A journey of one man struggling with the demon of drug addiction, the demons of influence, and the demon of himself, as his younger sister struggles to separate which one is her brother and which one is the demon.
Opens with a man named James doing drugs in a bathroom at a movie theater, while his younger sister waits for him. A pair of shaking hands fumble in pant pockets. Everything is tossed onto the wet, dirty bathroom vanity. James Douglas, a young man in his late 20s, grasps his head in betweenhis hands. Trying to steady his breathing. Sweat drips. Panic. Meanwhile, James’s 17 year old younger sister JULIA, waits for him. tonight is Brother-Sister date night. James doesn’t even hear Julia as he’s already storming out of the theater. She runs after him. They get home without a single word between them. Things weren’t always this way. They talk and he apologizes. Wrapping his arms around her with brotherly love.
James meets up with Daniel, his childhood best friend. James is introduced to Kirk, epitome drug dealer and a real life Hades. He introduces James to Heroin. After the first hit of heroin,
James was instantly hooked. He started drifting away more and more from his family, always using drugs. We as the audience witness his descent in the dark world of drug addiction.
At home, Julia lies awake in bed, crying through the anguish and constant fear of what her brother is doing. Where he is? Is he alive? The next night, James walks inside of a cafe. He lookslike he hasn’t slept or showered for days. On the way out, he runs into Rachel, his exgirlfriend. The two of them catch up. However, the demon of drug addiction still has complete power over James, since he continues dealing drugs with Kirk. Further and further James goes. Deep into Hell. Too many close encounters with death. Finally, James agrees to go to rehab. A little over a month later, a clean James is home. Ready to start a new life. The family gets closer as James continues living a clean life.
